support for any and all general statements, and appropriate citations.
“Substance,” on the other hand, concerns the employment of Sources in support of the paper’s
themes/questions/arguments, paragraph by paragraph, and the way such paragraphs, contribute to
a logically compelling essay. Successful papers, moreover, don’t flee from other views,
especially those that run counter to your paper’s emphasis. Such “counterevidence” should be
