1. What factors seem to exert the strongest impact on suicide rates in the United States? Cite research using APA Documentation format, that examines factors most often seen as risk factors for suicide.

2. Why do you believe the suicide rate is increasing in adolescents in the U.S? Locate and discuss current research to suppoort your hypothesis.

3. How do gender, ethnicity, and geographic area impact suicide? Do portions of the country with high gun ownership have higher suicide rates? How does the rate of suicide among young African-American males compare to the young white male suicide rate? Why do you believe this difference exists? What factors explain it? Is there

any research to support your hypothesis?

4. What impact does culture have on suicide rate? Is the suicide rate the same in other Western developed nations such as Great Britain, France or Germany? If it is lower why do you think it is lower? What can families and societal institutions do to lower the suicide rate for the young in the U.S?

Be sure to use quotes, statistics and graphs when discussing supporting research. Avoid generalities. Be sure to begin with a thesis statement and a list of topics that will be covered in the paper.Be sure to end with a summary and conclusion section in which you summarze any research you have presented and present your final conclusions based upon this research.

include a references list at the end, where you will provide complete citations for all the studies you have referred to in answering the 4 questions. The references list should be on a separate page. Do not use internet sources and do NOT use Wikipedia as a source. For definitions make sure to use a Psychology dictionary and not a
