In this course, you will be conducting research on a topic related to the course theme, Identity and Difference. The starting point for most projects is often a proposal. In your proposal, you should identify your topic, which must be related to the course theme, explain your rationale for selecting the topic, briefly discuss the topic and its context, and clearly state your intended focus by identifying potential research questions.

Your proposal should be written in general essay format and include the following:

A concise discussion of the topic
A clear statement of your intended focus (specifically state questions you have and/or intend to address regarding the topic)
A rationale for choosing the topic
At least three potential sources (must include an entire works cited entry for each potential resource you identify)
Topic: Choose a salient (interesting and significant) topic that is related to the course theme, Identity and Difference. This topic will be the one you use to complete the research project. You cannot write about either of the following topics:

marijuana
abortion
death penalty
guns and/or gun control
legal drinking age
legal driving age

Length:

300-500 words (Cannot be less than 300 words. If minimum requirements are not satisfied, you will not earn any credit.)
